Chicago in 25 Maps

Click on this Chicago in 25 Maps link, and we think you will find the best maps for real estate shopping in Chicago. The source, however, may surprise you, as they come from the City of Chicago's BIKE MAP. You will find that these maps show all "L" and Metra stops, have individual neighborhood names, and, of course, feature good bike routes. We have broken the master map up into 25 sections and have blown each up to a large 8 1/2 by 11 inch size. In addition, we will show you how to order your own full copy (it's free).

Chicago Neighborhood Boundaries

Click on this Chicago Neighborhood Boundaries link and you can access a directory of over 150 Chicago neighborhoods. Some (e.g., West Town) are CENSUS TRACTS of which there are 77 in Chicago (e.g., West Town is Area 24), but this list also has specific neighborhoods that reside within census tracts (e.g., in Area 24 there is East Ukrainian Vil., Ukrainian Vil., Wicker Pk., and most of Bucktown).

Census Tracts

Since the 1930’s, Chicago has been divided in 77 Census Tracts, and all real estate sales in Chicago still use that coding system. We furnish here two maps, one of the NORTH SIDE and one of the SOUTH SIDE:

You may wish to print 8 ½ X 11 sized maps for one or more of the 77 census tracts. Click on the link below and we will take you to the Chicago Maps page of the Exploring Chicago section of the cityofchicago.org website:
